Swampscott Refrigeration was established in 1951 by Charles V. Carone in his self built home in Swampscott, Massachusetts. He started in this business after serving in the Navy during World War II where he repaired and serviced appliances on the ships. He first worked at the Pickering Company; with two years of experience, and under the guidance of great technicians from the factory, he felt ready to go to night school to take courses that would perfect his skills even more fully in the industry. His wife Angelina had a hand in his success along with his 3 sons. His operation was started in a small workspace behind his home. He started out servicing window A/C units and home appliances. This small family business quickly outgrew this space and moved to 373 Eastern Ave in Lynn, MA, and then to the corner of Empire and Essex Streets. When we grew even further, we moved again and found a home at 161-163 Essex Street in Lynn, MA - where we still operate to this day.
Swampscott Refrigeration continues to expand and move with the demands of the industry. We are proudly still a family owned and operated business. Owner and President, James V. Carone has taken great strides to continue servicing the North Shore area and remain top in the industry. He has been awarded Master Accredited Technician from Frigidaire, and successfully completed with distinction all the requirements and has shown exceptional mastery and skill in his profession. In addition to several awards from Frigidaire, James Carone has received awards and achievement certificates from Carrier Corporation. He graduated from North East Institute of Technology in 1979. He has mastered all aspects of heating and cooling, and his knowledge in the industry stands above the rest.
